Purple-crowned Lorikeets are endemic to southern Australia.
The range of Purple-crowned Lorikeets basically spans the South
coast of the Australian continent, with the exception of the
Nullarbor (near the SA/WA border). They are most common in the
South-East and South-West corners of the continent and only
occasionally found further up the West coast of WA, as far
North as about Carnarvon.
Purple-crowned Lorikeets can be found in mallee and other types
of dry, open forest,
woodland or
scrub.
