White-browed Robins are medium-sized robins. They have a white (throat, chest, flanks) to light-grey (belly, vent, undertail coverts) front, a brownish-grey back (all the way from crown to uppertail) and black flight feathers with bold white wing bars. The face is dominated by very wide, white supercilia, a thin black through the eyes and grey ear coverts with a darker-grey fringe. The outer tail feathers have white tips. Bill, legs and feet are black.

Buff-sided Robins ("Poecilodryas cerviniventris") were formerly considered to be a race of the White-browed Robin, but have since been given full species status.

The overall distribution of this species can be assessed, and specific locations where birds have been spotted can be found, based on individual sighting reports submitted by birdwatchers to ebird.org .
