Description of habitat |
Billabong is a commonly used name for lagoons in tropical rivers of Australia, i.e. areas that stay wet when other parts of the rivers fall dry. They are often covered with water lilies and lined with reeds, providing ideal habitats for many aquatic birds. Billabongs often also have pandanus on their fringes.
