Description of habitat |
Some bird species, namely penguins, spend a significant fraction of their lifetimes on ice. They are also pelagic, spending much time in the open seas hunting, but are also found in coastal waters. They usually nest on offshore islands, often in colonies, although Emperor Penguins also breed on ice.
