Description of habitat |
Rubbish tips offer birds a combination of attractions. Apart from the obvious abundance of food scraps to be scavenged, there is often also fringe vegetation in which birds can roost and nest. Often there will also be (semi-)permanent water puddles. The high concentration of food in a small area favours species that are used to feeding in flocks.
