Blue Mountains National Park, NSW, Australia |
Here a few photos taken at Blue Mountains NP. This large NP is located just west of Sydney, within easy driving distance from the city. Its name derives from the bluish haze that can be observed in the air, especially in hot weather, which is caused by the evaporation of essential oil from eucalypt leaves. The park is dominated by deepcut gorges, eroded rock formations, almost contiguous tree and other vegetation, with treeferns featuring prominently in most valleys. Note that some photos presented on this website are available FOR SALE.
