Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory

Did you know that there is a small piece of semi-desert near the south end of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada? And that there is an astronomical observatory? No kidding. Just north of the US border there is the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory, which hosts various telescopes.

In the picture above the 32-m single dish and the observatory's buildings are shown. Below a photo of the DRAO's interferometer, which consists of 7 antennae operating at frequencies of 408 MHz and 1420 MHz simultaneously. Far in the background the 32-m dish is visible again.
