Solar flare of 15 January 2005

Fadeout of 20 MHz radio emission caused by an X1.2 intensity Solar flare that increased the level of ionisation in the Earth's ionosphere (and thereby its reflectivity for radio waves coming in from outer space) on 15/01/2005. This event was observed only with the eastern antenna of the SIMPLETON array. Plot produced by David Brodrick.
