Jovian storm of 3 April 2005

Jovian storm recorded by SIMPLETON at a frequency of 20.12 MHz on 3 April, 2005, from about 12:50 UT to 14:55 UT. The time range of the plot is from 12:45 to 15:00 UT. The noise comes from an electric fence near the telescope.

Jupiter was at its closest point to Earth at the time of these measurements, which makes the recorded events particularly strong. The resulting fringes are then accordingly impressive, even with the cheap TenTec receiver kits in SIMPLETON.
