Back to the Musk

.
In July 2022, we observed the following behaviour of a mob of Musk Lorikeets on a private property 30 km North of Coonabarabran, NSW.
Overview of the top of a dead tree that a mob of Musk Lorikeets
used for socializing and mating at the end of the day, before
going to roost
Male Musk Lorikeet offering his prospective partner a gift,
possibly nest lining material; this behaviour is part of a
bonding ritual
Pair of Musk Lorikeets exchanging some hanky panky
Pair of Musk Lorikeets playing silly buggers
With the preliminaries out of the way, it is time for the male
Musk Lorikeet to hop on...
... and get down to business!
