On other continents this family group comprises all species of parrots (or closely related species such as cockatoos, lorikeets, parakeets etc.). Although there is at least one species of parrots in Arabia (and thus in the Eurasian region), there are none in Europe itself. All parrots or related species found in Europe are escapes or introduced populations. Even the species found in Arabia is most likely introduced from India.
