Blue-faced Parrot-Finches are small to medium-sized finches.
Both sexes have a blue facial mask, a reddish-brown tail and

Blue-faced Parrot-Finches populate tropical Pacific Islands
ranging from Japan to Indonesia, Micronesia, New Caledonia,
Palau, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. They are
also present in a small area of north-eastern Australia.
In Australia
Blue-faced Parrot-Finches are present only in the Atherton
Tablelands in far north-eastern QLD.
Blue-faced Parrot-Finches have a preference for tropical
rainforest,
especially around clearings,
at high altitude during the breeding season and at lower
altitudes (but still on the tablelands) outside the breeding
season. They can also be found in fringe growth around
rainforest.
